How do I take a good chart photo?

The model can only read what the camera captured, so a clean photo does most of the work:

  • Fill the frame with the chart itself. Crop out the browser chrome, the watchlist sidebar and your desk.
  • Shoot straight on. A photo taken at an angle skews the candle bodies and makes patterns harder to read.
  • Kill the glare. Screen reflections and hotspots wipe out whole sections of price action. Tilt the screen or dim the room.
  • Hold still and let it focus. Blurry wicks are the single most common cause of a low-confidence result.
  • Keep the axes in shot where you can — the price and date scales give the analysis useful context.
  • Screenshots work too. If the chart is already on your phone, pick it from your photo library instead of photographing another screen.

After you take the photo you'll get a crop screen with draggable corners. Trim to the plot area, then enter the ticker. The company name and timeframe are optional but they sharpen the result.

What does the analysis include?

Every scan returns the same structure:

  • Trend — uptrend, downtrend or sideways, with a strength rating of weak, moderate or strong.
  • Technical analysis patterns — head and shoulders, triangles, wedges, flags, double tops and bottoms, support and resistance levels, and similar formations. Each one is labelled bullish, bearish or neutral, with a confidence score and a short explanation.
  • Japanese candlestick patterns — doji, hammer, engulfing, morning and evening star, harami and friends, spotted on the most recent bars, also with a bias and confidence.
  • A plain-language summary tying the above together, plus an overall confidence figure.

Confidence scores describe how sure the model is about what it saw in the picture. They are not a probability that a trade will work out.

Why did I get a result that looks wrong?

It happens. The analysis is produced by an AI vision model reading a photograph, and it can misread a noisy, cropped, blurred or unusual chart. Low-contrast dark themes, heavy indicator overlays and very dense intraday charts are the usual culprits. Retake the photo with a tighter crop and fewer overlays and try again.

Chart Algo AI is an educational tool, not a signal service. Treat every output as a starting point for your own analysis.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up, no email and no password. Your analyses, photos and watchlists are stored on your device, and your subscription is handled by Apple through your Apple ID.

How do subscriptions work?

Chart Algo AI is a subscription app. You buy the subscription inside the app; payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before it ends, and your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.

Manage or cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

I reinstalled the app / got a new phone. Where did my subscription go?

Open the app and tap Restore Purchases (it's on the paywall and in Settings). That reconnects the subscription attached to your Apple ID. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with.

Note that your saved analyses, photos and watchlists live on the device, not on our servers — a reinstall or a new phone starts that history fresh, and Restore Purchases does not bring it back.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. Use reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase. We can't issue App Store refunds ourselves, but email us if something went wrong and we'll help where we can.

What happens to my chart photos?

A photo you analyse is uploaded to our server, forwarded to an AI provider for analysis, and kept for up to 30 days in private cloud storage so we can debug failures and check quality — then it's deleted automatically. The copy shown in the app stays on your device. The Privacy Policy has the full detail.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting an analysis in the app removes it and its photo from your device. For the temporary server-side copies, email support@chartalgoai.com from the device you use and include your device identifier (Settings → About in the app) and we'll purge them.

How do I contact support?

Email support@chartalgoai.com. Tell us what you did, what you expected and what happened instead — a screenshot of the result screen helps a lot. We answer every message.
